Support a team of Belgian archaeologists

Take part in the Sissi archaeological project in Crete,

An exciting archaeological and human adventure

in the footsteps of a vanished civilisation, at the origins of our own ...

by supporting a team of researchers from UCLouvain, Belgium!

Located on the north-east coast of Crete, the major site of Sissi, close to the famous palace of Malia, offers rare and precious evidence for a period of history and a civilisation that is still poorly understood, that of the brilliant Minoan culture of the 3rd and 2nd millennia BC.

Mention: Sissi Archaeological Project

By making a donation of

200€

You will enable an aDNA or stable isotope analysis of human bones over 3500 years old and thus help to trace the genealogy of our European ancestors.

500€

You will ensure the long-term conservation of a thousand-year-old wall threatened by accelerated erosion, and in so doing you will become a key player in the conversion of the site into an archaeological park open to visitors.

1000€

You will enable a student to enrich their academic training with six weeks of field work, while contributing to the progress of research into Minoan archaeology.

2000€

You will provide bilingual explanatory panels (in English and Greek) on the site, giving the public a better understanding of the Minoan ruins and encouraging them to take care of them.
